About the RoleThe Attendance Administrator will play a key role in ensuring accurate and efficient recording of student attendance, supporting safeguarding processes, and maintaining strong communication with parents, staff, and external agencies. You will be joining a supportive team and contributing to the smooth running of the school's attendance systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and record daily student attendance using the school's MIS
- Make first-day absence calls and follow up on unexplained absences
- Liaise with parents, carers, and staff regarding attendance concerns
- Produce attendance reports for senior leaders and pastoral teams
- Support safeguarding procedures by escalating attendance issues appropriately
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with school policies
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience working in a school office or attendance role
- Strong administrative and IT skills, including experience with school MIS systems (e.g., SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom)
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, calm manner
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment and manage competing priorities
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safeguarding
