Summary

You will be responsible for leading on debt monitoring, and reporting and advising on debt management across the Defra group. Your responsibilities will include:

Monthly reporting and analysis based on National Debt Reports issued for the Environment Agency, drawing out any areas of concern.
Analysis of monthly write-off information.
Regular liaison meetings with Defra group’s outsourced debt management team.
Representing Defra in debt-related meetings, including with the National Income Service and at the Cross-Government Debt Group.
Collection and comparison of the overdue debt position for each body within Defra group with onward reporting to HM Treasury.
Continual review of the Defra Debt Functional assessment standard.
Review of the performance of the outsourced debt collection function.
Co-ordinating and consolidating the Consolidated Debt Report for Defra Group.
Advising on any implications for debt management of new income-generating schemes that are developed across the Defra group.
