Join our friendly and forward‑thinking Business Services Team, where no two days are the same. You’ll play a key role in providing high‑quality administrative support that helps our services run smoothly and efficiently across Corporate Resources, and the wider Council.
About the Role
Our Business Services Team is a positive, forward‑thinking group with a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service and efficient support across Corporate Resources. The wider service is made up of three teams — Support Services, Secretariat, and Information & Complaints — and while this role sits primarily within Support Services, you’ll work flexibly across all areas when required.
This is a varied and rewarding administrative role. You’ll take responsibility for a range of daily tasks that help keep our services running smoothly. This includes accurate data entry, raising and managing purchase orders and invoices, booking training requests, maintaining up‑to‑date records, ordering supplies and services, and responding to phone and email enquiries. You’ll play a key part in ensuring our customers — both internal and external — receive a high‑quality, professional service.
About You
To apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:
- 5 GCSEs (grades 4–9 or equivalent), including English and Maths
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Word and Excel)
- Experience of raising purchase orders and processing invoices
- Strong numeracy and communication skills
- Ability to manage your workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
- Confidence working independently and using your own initiative
- Flexibility and a willingness to adapt quickly when priorities change
You must also have an understanding of, and commitment to, equality, diversity and inclusion.
