Summary
Full time and Part time vacancies Available
Location: Shepton Mallet
Pay Rate: £13.13 per hour
My name is Barbara; my support and friends call me Barbs. I need someone to help support me with my small and friendly team in my own separate flat at Grove Court, Shepton Mallet. I will need you to be patient, calm with a good sense of humour, whilst able to be firm with me at times. You should be pro-active and able to complete a wide range of tasks to help promote my independence and control. Once you have settled in, you will be lone working with me and helping me with a variety of life skills: my personal care, cooking healthy choices (within my SALT eating and drinking plan), cleaning and shopping. After some training, you will also be expected to complete record keeping and recording information on our IT systems. You will also be able to liaise with healthcare professionals, client finance for my personal spending and sometimes staffing agencies to confirm arrangements.
I like going swimming, tearing books (this is a calming sensory activity for me), going out for meals, having short walks and enjoying the countryside so being able to drive my automatic car is imperative.
What my team say about me... “Barbs can be quite cheeky and mischievous, even though she doesn't use words to communicate she lets us know what she wants and what she likes”
Grove Court has it's own parking but is just a 10 minute walk from the large Tesco, the bus stops and close to Shepton Mallet Town Centre which has cafes, pubs, a library and various other amenities including Boots and Argos which I like to drive to as it is a little bit far for me to walk along the busy roads.
If you consider yourself to be able to work alone and in a team effectively, have the relevant experience and can drive please apply.
