Summary

Job title: Personal Assistant
Location: Bridgend
Hours of work: 6 hours, every other Saturday
Rate of pay: £13.75 per hour


Introduction:
A committed, caring and patient Personal Assistant to support a 5 year old girl, with complex medical needs.
She has global development delay (GDD) meaning she is unable to walk, talk, think and lacks social skills.
She is a wheelchair user and has visual and hearing impairments.

You will be required to engage and play with her within the local community or her home and to provide nutrition.


Main Duties:
- Support with personal care
- Support with accessing the community
- Supporting with social interaction and child development
- Encouragement to wear glasses and hearing aids
- Managing enteral nutrition via PEG (training provided)
- Administering medication via PEG (training provided)


Person Specification:
- Kind, patient and responsible
- Reliable with good time keeping
- Comfortable around large dogs
- Able to maintain confidentiality and be aware of privacy
- An ability to develop a positive supportive relationship
- Non-smoker essential
- Enhanced DBS required


Benefits
5.6 weeks holiday per year (pro rata).
Sick pay at SSP rate if earning £120.00 or more per week.
Training provided to support you in your role.
