What will be your primary role?

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Watch Analyst at the NIFC. This critical role directs all NIFC intelligence watch activities, providing essential, fused intelligence information to SHAPE J2 and deployed NATO forces supporting Combined Joint Task Force and NATO Reaction Force operations. You will be responsible for leading and directing the NIFC intelligence watch team and producing and delivering daily intelligence briefs to NIFC and SHAPE J2 leadership. You will serve as the primary duty officer and represent the Chief, NIFC in their absence and provide direct support to crisis and contingency operational intelligence analysis and daily mission execution. This position requires a strong understanding of NATO operations and intelligence processes.

Qualification requirement: A University Degree related to the position, and 10 years related experience is required.

What are the Key Skills required for this role?

1. Knowledge of the concepts, principles, polices, and practices of intelligence collection, production and dissemination.
2. Knowledge of written and oral communication principles, methods, and techniques to conduct and coordinate intelligence activities.
3. Knowledge of the principles and methods of intelligence analysis.
4. Skill in gathering, evaluating, and interpreting data to arrive at valid conclusions and offer meaningful recommendations.
5. Skill in establishing effective working relationships with people sharing similar goal, and interests.
6. Skill in producing written information, reports and briefings.
7. A working knowledge of standard automated data processing systems, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, e-mail and Internet systems.

What are the conditions of employment for this role?

1. You will be required to handle and safeguard sensitive information in accordance with applicable US and UK laws, rules and regulations.
2. You may be required to travel by military and/or civilian aircraft, and you may also be required to travel to the US or other country, in the performance of official duties or attend necessary training.
3. This position may be coded as mission essential.
4. You will be required to complete a 6-month probationary period.
5. Overtime may be required, and you may be assigned other duties not included in this position description, but that are appropriate to the grade and skill set of the incumbent.
6. You must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
7. You will be required to obtain a NATO SECRET clearance.
8. You will be on rotational 3 days on, 3 nights on, 6 days off, 12-hour shift, which will include weekends and holidays.
9. Recall to duty may be a requirement of this position.
10. You may be subject to random drug testing.
11. You will observe US holidays in lieu of UK Holidays
