About the employer

The employer is a lady living in her family home in Corby with her two children (aged 19 and 9) and their friendly medium sized dog.

The Employer has Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Arthritis and other health issues.

Main Duties
• General light household duties. i.e. vacuuming, changing bedding for the family, cleaning, dusting etc.
• Assisting the Employer to go shopping (the employer will drive) and aiding her with carrying heavy items and putting them away once back in the home.
• Walking the Employer’s medium sized pet dog (approx. a 20/30 minute walk)
• Assisting the Employer to batch cook meals for the week. Cleaning and tidying of the kitchen and oven afterwards.
• Light garden maintenance as and when required.
• Supporting Employer with correspondence and general organisation.
• Prompting to order repeat prescription and reminders to take medication.
• There is no personal care in this role.
• Any other task which the employer may reasonably ask you to do which falls within the scope of the job as a Personal Assistant.


Additional employment information
The successful applicant will be friendly, able to give empathetic support, while respecting the employer’s independence but also able to take instruction.

You must be comfortable around children. Both children have additional needs, so experience or knowledge of ADHD is advantageous.

As mentioned, the Employer has a medium sized dog so you must be comfortable around animals. Some pet care (i.e. feeding, cleaning up after it etc) may be required.

A licence holder with use of a reliable car is preferrable but not essential, as the Employer can drive and has a car.

A can-do attitude and aptitude to assist the employer with day to day living tasks. Must be flexible, trustworthy and have a good sense of humour.

An enhanced DBS will be undertaken (cost borne by the Employer)
