Job title: Personal Assistant (PA)

Location: Stoke Heath, Bromsgrove

About the employer:
Our client is an 83-year-old female living in the Stoke Heath area of Bromsgrove who is looking to recruit a Personal Assistant to provide support with daily living tasks for 24 hours per week over three days.
Our client suffered a life changing stroke and as a result their verbal communication is limited but retains a good understanding, this is also accompanied by limited dexterity skills.
Main duties:
Social duties:
Keep in touch and socialise with family and friends
Support to attend medical appointments if required
Support with hobbies such as jigsaw puzzles and listening to music.
Support visiting the local garden centre and visits to the local town for a coffee weather permitting.
Personal care: Support with personal care when required during the day.
Domestic duties: Support with making lunchtime sandwiches and drinks throughout the day and support maintaining a clean home environment.
Every day is different—so flexibility and a positive attitude go a long way!
Type of person that you/they are looking for:
Values: Someone that is honest, reliable, punctual, non-judgemental, ability to build good relationships based on trust and respect, flexible, adaptable, easy going, able to work alone, positive, willingness to travel and understands equality and diversity.
Specific requirements: An all-round good communicator with the ability to act on the client’s behalf when communication is required. Experience in the care sector is desirable but not essential. Must be a non-smoker. Must be happy to work around dogs as client has a small and friendly dog.
Other: Due to the nature of this role including personal care the potential employer will be considering mature female applicants only.
Hours of work: 24 hours per week
8 hours per day 9am – 5pm Wednesday to Friday.
Rate of pay: £12.21 per hour rising to £12.71 per in April.
Skills, qualifications, and experience
Essential:
Full UK Driving Licence
Car and appropriate insurance
Experience in the care sector is desirable but not essential
Good communication skills
Non-smoker
Confidentiality
Good at building relationships
