Summary


If you already have some experience working as a qualified radiographer, there is an opportunity to advance through the department’s Band 5/6 progression pathway.

Perform a high standard of imaging within plain film, theatres and mobile examinations, with rotation into CT, whilst maintaining exceptional patient care.Work as part of our great team and as an individual unsupervised as part of the 24-hour imaging service.Manage your own workload of patients, keeping accurate associated records.Provide support and supervision to our students and assistant practitioners.Use own initiative in problem solving and decision-making regarding workflow and IR(ME)R regulations.Effectively communicate with the multidisciplinary team, liaising with other departments within the trust.Ensure compliance with departmental policy, procedures and our clinical governance framework.Aim to drive continuous improvement and be responsible for keeping an up to date CPD folder.

Working in a challenging trauma, orthopaedic and neuro environment, there will numerous opportunities to develop skills in general imaging. If you wish to specialise in the future, we have an extensive range of modalities including DR, CT, MRI, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, lithotripsy, DEXA, interventional angiography and all aspects of general and fluoroscopic radiography. We also have an O-arm and 3D navigation which is used in complex spinal surgery.If you enjoy the challenge of trauma imaging you will be involved in carrying out imaging within the brand new Greater Manchester Major Trauma Hospital . There will be a dedicated trauma radiology department andCPD is actively encouraged and supported at Salford . Our SOR learning representative has a wide range of CPD activities and lectures organised every month spanning all interests. We also encourage role extension and currently have MSK and chest reporting radiographers in training in addition to those already in post. We also have advanced practice radiographers working in other areas of the department.
