General Primary Supply is the ultimate way to build your experience. One day you might be helping with an Art project in Key Stage 1, and the next you could be supporting a science experiment in Key Stage 2. If you bore easily, this is the role for you.

The Role

As a General Primary TA, adaptability is your superpower. Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Curriculum Support: Assisting the class teacher in delivering lessons across the entire Primary age range (Reception to Year 6).

  • Intervention Groups: Taking small groups of pupils out of the classroom to focus on Reading, Writing, or Numeracy catch-up.

  • Behaviour Support: Using positive reinforcement strategies to keep pupils engaged and minimising low-level disruption.

  • Resource Prep: Helping to set up the classroom for the day, creating displays, and ensuring resources are ready for learning.

Requirements

  • Experience: You must have recent experience working with children (e.g., in schools, after-school clubs, coaching, or care).

  • Versatility: You must be comfortable working across different age groups and ability levels.

  • Vetting: A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or the willingness to apply for one immediately).

  • References: Two professional references (including your most recent employer).
