Summary
Are you looking for a career that fits perfectly around your life, rather than ruling it?
Do you have the versatility to jump from a Year 1 Phonics lesson to a Year 6 Maths booster in the same week?
Could you be the supportive, consistent adult that helps a shy pupil find their voice?
If you found yourself saying "yes," Randstad Education wants to meet you. As the market leader in Leeds, we are currently supporting a vast network of Primary schools that require adaptable, enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to keep their classrooms moving.
General Primary Supply is the ultimate way to build your experience. One day you might be helping with an Art project in Key Stage 1, and the next you could be supporting a science experiment in Key Stage 2. If you bore easily, this is the role for you.
The RoleAs a General Primary TA, adaptability is your superpower. Your core responsibilities will include:
-
Curriculum Support: Assisting the class teacher in delivering lessons across the entire Primary age range (Reception to Year 6).
-
Intervention Groups: Taking small groups of pupils out of the classroom to focus on Reading, Writing, or Numeracy catch-up.
-
Behaviour Support: Using positive reinforcement strategies to keep pupils engaged and minimising low-level disruption.
-
Resource Prep: Helping to set up the classroom for the day, creating displays, and ensuring resources are ready for learning.
-
Strictly PAYE: We value your earnings. We pay weekly via our own PAYE system, meaning you don't lose money to hidden umbrella company fees.
-
The "Uber" of Supply: Our staffing app puts the power in your pocket. You can book shifts, update your availability, and check your payslips instantly from your phone.
-
Local Opportunities: We work with schools in every postcode of Leeds. We strive to find you work that is convenient to get to, whether you drive or use public transport.
-
Try Before You Buy: Supply is the best way to "audition" schools. Many of our TAs find their perfect permanent school by working there on supply first.
-
Experience: You must have recent experience working with children (e.g., in schools, after-school clubs, coaching, or care).
-
Versatility: You must be comfortable working across different age groups and ability levels.
-
Vetting: A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or the willingness to apply for one immediately).
-
References: Two professional references (including your most recent employer).
