Summary

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a number of Secondary Schools across Nottingham, supporting them with high-quality Teaching Assistants who are committed to making a positive impact on student's learning and well-being.

The role of a Secondary Teaching Assistant is vital to the smooth running of the classroom. You will work closely with teaching staff to support learning, behaviour and engagement, providing in-class support to pupils across Key Stages 3 and 4. This role does not involve lesson planning, but strong communication skills and confidence working with young people are essential.

The successful Secondary Teaching Assistant will have:

  • A Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, Education, or similar (or higher)


  • At least 6 month's experience working with children or young people in a school or educational setting


  • Confidence supporting students aged 11–16


  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to keep pupils engaged


  • Flexibility to work across different subjects, departments and year groups


  • A positive, reliable and professional approach to working in schools


  • A clear understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries
