Chef de Partie – HMP Bronzefield
HMP Bronzefield is seeking a dedicated and motivated Chef de Partie to support the delivery of high-quality catering services within a secure custodial environment. Working as part of the catering team, you will assist in the preparation and cooking of meals for a large population while supervising prisoners in kitchen activities.
This role requires a strong focus on food safety, health and safety compliance, security awareness, and the maintenance of Sodexo standards, contributing to the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the prison catering service.

Main ResponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation and cooking of meals in line with approved recipes, Sodexo standards, and contractual requirements, catering for up to 550 prisoners.
Supervise prisoners working in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health & safety, food safety, allergen controls, security procedures, and cleaning standards.
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health and safety, and quality control across all kitchen operations.
Complete and maintain all required documentation and paperwork within the catering department and wider prison environment.
Support secure systems for the receipt, storage, and issue of food supplies, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
Work closely with the Catering Manager, Soft Services Manager, and Prison Custody Officers (PCOs) to challenge inappropriate behaviour, maintain order, and ensure a safe working environment.

The Ideal CandidateEssentialRelevant catering qualifications, such as City & Guilds 7061/7062 or NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent).
Valid Food Hygiene and Health & Safety certifications.
Experience working in bulk or high-volume catering environments.
Strong understanding of food safety, allergen management, and health & safety regulations.
Ability to work effectively in a secure and challenging environment while maintaining professional standards.
Good communication skills with the ability to supervise and motivate others.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo SSCL Enhanced Level 1/2 vetting and an Enhanced DBS check.
Previous experience working in a custodial, secure, or institutional environment.
Experience supervising or training staff, trainees, or service users.
Awareness of equality, diversity, and inclusion principles.
A flexible, proactive approach with the ability to adapt to operational demands.
£31,516.72 per annum + London Weighting (£3,729.24)
