Summary
Equans is looking for an IT Solution Architect - Applications and Integrations to join our team in our Newcastle or Bevis Mark's offices on a 12 month fixed term contract . This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package. As the Solution Architect, you will play a pivotal role in shaping technical solutions that align with our business objectives. You will be responsible for recommending, designing, and optimizing technology systems and processes, ensuring they meet the needs of our organization and support our strategic initiatives. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and domain knowledge in the Applications & Integration space. Previous experience working with any CAFM system, SAP, API based Integration, Contractor Management systems is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of architecting and designing Integrated solutions, along with a strong understanding of industry best practices and emerging trends. The UK ERP and E-Proc Programme is a UKBU wide business led SAP S/4HANA ERP transformation programme delivering a suite of best-in-class technology solutions, best practice processes and new ways of working. The programme is a significant investment and includes four core workstreams; Order to Cash (O2C), Procure to Pay (P2P), Record to Report (R2R) and Projects.The high-level goals of the programme are to move to a single new UK SAP S/4HANA ERP platform, working with Coupa, Palantir and Synapse to simplify and digitalise business processes and to leverage business improvements as a consequence. This will ensure an improved user experience for all employees, that the business remains highly competitive, and that business risk is mitigated. What will you deliver? You will work with teams across Applications, Integration, Data and Infrastructure.Architecture designs must be aligned to EQUANS UK and EQUANS Group technical strategy, principles, and standards.You will work closely with members of the Architecture practice including Business Architecture & Business Analysis and other domain Solution Architects to align on architecture approach and solution options.Participate in different Architecture and Governance Forums to ensure reviews are carried out for all architecture and design activities. Being accountable for the delivery of high-quality architecture artefacts which clearly explain the technical strategy and rationale. Lead and facilitate requirements gathering and solution workshops with stakeholders from functional/technical subject matter experts as part of the Discovery, Assessment & Design and Planning phases.Communicate progress of issues, risks and findings from your work in appropriate documents and tailor the level of detail depending on audience Domain Experience Proven experience in Application integrations as a Solution Architect or similar role.Experience in architecting and implementing complex Integration technology solutions.Domain knowledge in the applications space, ideally with an understanding of Computer Aided Facilities Management, including understanding of business processes, policies, and compliance requirements. Who are we looking for? Ensure a clear understanding and application of business process to technical solutions and designs. Ensure security and data privacy is forefront when assessing solution options and pros/cons.Strong technical skills, with expertise in API and other Integration technologies including message queues, middleware and API Management products. Demonstrable experience in systemsProven experience of reviewing new product implementation, reasons and rationale for adoption, review of platform technical and functional controls.Expertise in API design and development using middleware products such as MuleSoft and IBM ACE.Experience with API Gateway technologies (Axway, IBM APIC) and Batch processing (Axway MFT).Proficiency in SAP BTP & CPI, API design patterns, and adherence to best practices and standards.Knowledge of batch data transfer methods including IDocs, ETL tools, and middleware integration.Design Visualisation:Skilled in creating architecture diagrams and visualisations using Draw.io and SAP LeanIX.Data & ETL:Strong understanding of data transformation, orchestration, and ETL processes.Experience designing solution with robust security controls, encryption, API security standards such as OAuth and SSL/TLS.Ability to understand and manage business stakeholder relationships, their needs, their priorities, and their drivers.Ability to break down a problem to identify constituent parts and develop an approach. Competent at clearly articulating technical and non-technical solutions and designs to a variety of audiences.Visual Modelling – the ability to translate complex ideas and concepts into straightforward and simple to understand outputs. Experience of managing Architecture artefacts in LeanIX is highly desirable.Facilitation techniques to manage stakeholders at all levels in meetings/workshops and to accurately record agreed outcomes and ensure follow-up activity is tracked and completed.Must have negotiation and influencing skills to progress actions/issues and gain agreement/sign-off of deliverables.Must have good interpersonal skill and the ability to listen, question and interpret stakeholder requirements and build on-going relationships.Certifications – Desirable – SOA Integration Professional, TOGAF or other certifications in Architecture This role reports into the Principal Solution Architect and Architecture Practice Manager at EQUANS UK.
