Summary

The Corporate Debt Team is responsible for recovering debts owed to the Council, including Council Tax arrears, Housing Benefit overpayments, and Sundry Debts such as those related to Adult Social Care.

Reporting to the Corporate Debt Team Leader, the Senior Billing & Debt Officer will provide strong leadership and effective management for one of these debt areas, ensuring timely and efficient collection.

The role of Senior Billing and Debt Officers (Corporate Debt) ensures that the recovery of unpaid debts is carried out in an effective and timely manner, assisting the Billing and Debt (Corporate Debt) Team Leader in the day-to-day supervision of the team.

This role will be working on the Council Tax arrears recovery and a detailed knowledge of legislation and related regulations relevant to the key arears of debt is required.

The ability to work to deadlines and to prioritise workloads is essential.
