Looking for a rewarding role that fits around your schedule? Are you seeking a dynamic position in education but need the flexibility of part-time hours? Randstad is looking for confident, adaptable individuals to join our team of Cover Supervisors in Croydon.
This is an ideal opportunity for parents, freelancers, postgraduate students, or those transitioning into education who want to work 2-4 days a week (or on a flexible ad-hoc basis) without the commitment of a full-time teaching contract.
The Role: Flexibility Meets ImpactAs a Part-Time Cover Supervisor, you provide the essential continuity schools need when regular staff are away. You handle the "front-of-class" management while the school provides the lesson plans.
-
Flexible Scheduling: Work on the days that suit you. Whether you want fixed part-time days or flexible "on-call" work, we can accommodate your availability.
-
Classroom Oversight: Manage students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (Ages 11-18), ensuring they stay engaged with the work provided.
-
Behaviour Leadership: Maintain the school's high expectations for conduct and focus, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
-
Zero Planning or Marking: Enjoy the rewards of working with young people without the "take-home" workload of a traditional teacher.
-
Confidence & Presence: You must be comfortable leading a group of teenagers and managing classroom dynamics.
-
Reliability: Because schools rely on you to fill gaps, punctuality and commitment on your booked days are essential.
-
Communication: Ability to build quick rapport with students and staff in diverse Croydon secondary schools.
-
Experience: Previous experience in youth work, coaching, tutoring, or any leadership role with young people is a huge plus.
-
Local Commitment: Ideal for those living in or near the borough of Croydon looking for local work.
-
Competitive Daily Rates: High daily pay with no out-of-hours work required.
-
Work-Life Balance: Only work during school term times-no holiday or weekend work.
-
Career Growth: Invaluable classroom experience for those considering future teacher training.
-
Support: Guidance from a dedicated Randstad consultant to help you find the right school environment.
If you are ready to support Croydon's schools on your own terms, we want to hear from you today.
