Summary
Neway International are seeking a Private Rented Sector Licence Processing Officer to join our client based with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
Location: Tower Hamlets Town Hall
Hours: 35 per week
Contract: Temporary – until 21 April 2026
Start Date: 22 January 2026
Rate: PAYE £21.81 per hour / Ltd/Umbrella £28.44 per hour

The Role
The Private Rented Sector Licence Processing Officer will be responsible for processing all Additional Licensing applications and managing an application caseload. The role requires accuracy, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work in line with statutory requirements, council policies, and professional standards.
You will play a key part in ensuring that licensing applications are assessed efficiently and consistently, contributing to improved housing standards and safeguarding residents across the borough.
Key Responsibilities
Processing Additional Licensing applications in accordance with statutory requirements.
Managing an active caseload of licensing applications.
Ensuring all work complies with council policies, procedures, and professional standards.
Maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Liaising with landlords, agents, and internal teams as required.
Supporting the delivery of high‑quality services that benefit residents and improve housing conditions.
Candidate Requirements
Experience working within housing, licensing, compliance, or a regulatory environment.
Strong administrative and organisational skills.
Ability to manage a caseload and work to deadlines.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Confident communicator with the ability to engage with landlords and stakeholders.
Understanding of housing legislation or licensing processes is desirable.
DBS not required.
