The role is paid over 43 weeks per year, reflecting the responsibility for working slightly longer days when required. This may include earlier starts to manage staff absence, or later finishes to address safeguarding matters, timetable adjustments, or urgent operational needs.
You do not need to be teacher trained to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Head of School in the strategic and operational leadership of the site
- Lead on daily organisation, including timetables, staffing cover, and deployment of Teaching Assistants
- Line manage and support Teaching Assistants and support staff, ensuring high standards and accountability
- Coordinate new pupil induction, ensuring smooth transitions and effective communication with families and staff
- Oversee day-to-day operational matters that impact learning, including attendance, behaviour systems, and safeguarding follow-up
- Act as a key point of contact for staff regarding organisation, routines, and escalation of issues
- Contribute to safeguarding processes, record keeping, and timely responses to concerns
- Work collaboratively with senior leaders to maintain a calm, well-structured learning environment
About You
The ideal candidate will:

- Have worked in a school setting, for example as a Head of Year, pastoral leader, or similar middle leadership role
- Be confident leading teams and making decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Have strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
- Be calm, professional, and solution-focused, particularly when dealing with safeguarding or staffing issues
- Be passionate about supporting pupils and improving outcomes through strong leadership
- A teaching qualification is not required, but a strong understanding of school operations and pastoral systems is essential.
Why Join Us?
- A key leadership role within a supportive and forward-thinking school
- Opportunity to work closely with the Head of School and senior leadership team
