Summary

Job Title Support Worker
About the service user
L is a happy 12 year old girl who has a diagnosis of Autism & ADHD. L is sensitive to loud noises.

L likes being creative and enjoys drawing, painting and painting her nails.

L also loves being outside going for long riverside walks, feeding the ducks or going to the park to run around and play on the swings.

Hours and rate of Pay
Flexible hours to be used after school & weekends approximately 7.5 hours per month – paid at £12.50 per hour.

Enhanced DBS clearance is essential





What you would be doing…
Supporting L to access the community with another trusted adult to engage in activities she enjoys.

Developing road safety skills and general safety when out and about as well as some money management skills.

L manages the toilet independently though she sometimes needs prompting.

The person I would like…
It is essential you have experience of supporting other young people with Autism & ADHD and have an awareness of the behaviour challenges the conditions can bring.

Someone who is kind, patient and understanding who can communicate clear boundaries. Good timekeeping is important as L responds well to routine.

L needs constant supervision, you will need to be alert & quick thinking in order to keep her safe.

L does sometimes run, this is usually if she is scared or not comfortable in a situation, you will learn triggers for this behaviour.

Someone who is willing to be interactive and encouraging in order to improve and develop skills.
