Summary

Quantity Surveyor – Residential Construction

Main Contractor | Permanent | £60-£65k + Car Allowance

I’m currently working with a well-established and growing residential main contractor who is looking to strengthen their commercial team with the appointment of an experienced Quantity Surveyor.

This is a business with a strong pipeline of work across high-quality housing and apartment schemes, a solid reputation in the market, and a genuinely good culture – low turnover, supportive leadership, and realistic workloads.

They’re now looking for a Quantity Surveyor who can take ownership of projects from pre-contract through to final account and play a key role in the commercial success of the business.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the full commercial management of one or more residential projects, including:

  • Full cost management of projects from tender to final account

  • Preparing and managing budgets, forecasts, and cost reports

  • Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers

  • Valuations, variations, and change control

  • Subcontractor account management and payments

  • Final accounts and project close-out

  • Working closely with site and project management teams

    What They’re Looking For
    • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a main contractor

    • Strong background in residential construction (housing, apartments, mixed-use)

    • Good commercial and contractual knowledge

    • Confident managing your own projects and dealing with subcontractors

    • Well organised, commercially aware, and proactive in approach

      What’s On Offer
      • Long-term work with a strong pipeline of projects

      • Supportive, professional team environment with real progression opportunities
