Your new role
- Deliver year on year cost savings through effective sourcing and category management strategies
- Lead supplier relationship management, including negotiation, performance management, and continuous improvement
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, innovation, and process optimisation
- Manage the end to end procurement lifecycle, including contracts, compliance, and risk management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate sourcing, contractual, and regulatory risks
- Promote total cost of ownership and support the adoption of improved procurement practices
- Monitor market trends and cost drivers to identify savings opportunities and mitigate inflationary pressures
- Resolve supplier related issues and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure continuity of supply
What you'll need to succeed
- CIPS qualification attained or working towards (desirable)
- Demonstrable experience in category management within a procurement environment
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to deliver measurable cost savings
- Effective communicator with a collaborative and relationship focused approach
- Proven track record of continuous improvement delivery
- Comfortable operating in complex, fast paced, and evolving organisations
- Sound contract knowledge, ideally with experience in contract drafting and negotiation
- Acts with integrity and demonstrates behaviours aligned to an inclusive workplace
