Patient Care and Clinical Practice: Deliver direct nursing care in line with patient care plans and clinical protocols. Assess patient needs, prioritise care, and update care plans accordingly. Monitor vital signs, recognise changes in condition, and escalate appropriately using clinical judgement. Administer medications safely and effectively in accordance with hospital policies and the NMC Code. Professional Accountability and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, legible, and timely nursing documentation, including assessments, care plans, and observations. Ensure that all care provided complies with NMC standards, clinical governance requirements, and hospital policies. Support infection prevention and control practices to maintain a safe clinical environment. Communication and Compassionate Care: Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients, families, and carers, providing information, reassurance, and emotional support. Work closely with medical staff, allied health professionals, and other departments to coordinate patient care. Participate in handovers, multidisciplinary meetings, and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Health Promotion and Patient Education: Support patients in understanding their condition, treatments, and recovery processes. Promote healthy lifestyles, medication adherence, and self-care through appropriate patient education. Teamwork and Leadership: Work collaboratively with colleagues to provide high-quality, safe, and efficient care. Act as a mentor or preceptor for students and junior staff, sharing knowledge and encouraging professional growth. Participate in training, supervision, and performance review processes. Quality, Safety, and Continuous Improvement: Identify and report incidents, safeguarding concerns, and potential risks in line with hospital procedures. Take part in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and reflective practice to support clinical excellence. Maintain professional development through ongoing education, mandatory training, and clinical skills updates. WHAT DO YOU HAVE? Essential: Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration. Demonstrable experience working in a clinical healthcare setting. Good understanding of clinical governance, patient safety, and evidence-based practice. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Proficient in IT systems used for patient records, documentation, and care planning. Desirable: Previous experience in a relevant specialty (e.g., surgical, medical, outpatient, orthopaedics, critical care). Mentorship or teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one). Evidence of CPD and additional clinical skills training. Experience working in a private healthcare setting or knowledge of private patient pathways. WHAT SORT OF PERSON ARE YOU?
