Summary
Multidisciplinary Team Meetings The Fellow will be a key participant in: - Weekly Malignant Pancreas MDT - Weekly HPB Endo-therapy MDT - Weekly Benign Pancreas MDT Active engagement in case discussions, decision-making, and service planning is expected. Research and Teaching The Fellow will be expected to be actively involved in research within PB endoscopy and medicine, taking opportunities to strengthen their CV with presentations in national/international meetings and publications. The Fellow will also be involved in national HPB courses and the nurses pancreatobiliary course (ENRICH). There is also potential to set up hands-on training courses in the future. The successful candidate will be on the gastroenterology registrar on call rota, providing out of hours advice and emergency endoscopy provision. At a tertiary centre, this includes receiving referrals from external hospitals for transfer for intervention inclusive of interventional radiology involvement. Emergency out-of-hours endoscopy is undertaken in theatre. Weekends and Bank Holidays on call will involve inpatient ward rounds for hepatology and luminal gastroenterology patients and seeing routine referrals. On calls are supported by an on-call Consultant 24/7, and the weekend/bank holiday are supported by a ward consultant on call in addition.
