Summary

Teaching Assistant – Hammersmith
Full-time, term-time only

A primary school in Hammersmith is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team. The role involves supporting pupils in the classroom, with a particular focus on children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

This is a full-time position and includes working until 5:00 pm each day to support the school’s after-school provision. The extended hours are reflected in the rate of pay.

Main duties:
Support teaching and learning in the classroom under the direction of the class teacher
Provide targeted 1:1 and small group support, including pupils with SEN
Assist with the implementation of learning activities and interventions
Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
Help prepare classroom resources and maintain a positive learning environment
Supervise and engage pupils during the after-school club until 5:00pm
Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies at all times

Requirements:
Experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting
Experience or knowledge of SEN support (such as ASD, ADHD, or speech and language needs)
A caring, patient, and professional approach
Good communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
