Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading and well-established international manufacturing group to recruit a dynamic and experienced Assistant Management Accountant to join their accounting team in Hereford, Herefordshire. A varied and hands-on permanent finance role reporting directly to the Finance Manager, driving accurate, timely reporting that keeps their business moving forward. Opportunity to develop and progress within the business if wanted, along with a finance qualification study package for CIMA/ACCA/AAT.
Your new role
Your key duties will involve supporting the Finance Manager with month-end reporting, providing vital support across the finance department. Bank reconciliations, balance sheet account reconciliations, supporting the creation of reporting solutions, along with assisting with project margin reviews. You will conduct customer credit checks to help negotiate payment terms, secure credit insurance cover to ensure compliance with company procedures, along with loading customer orders into the financial system. You will raise invoices, manage daily banking allocations, and be involved in ad-hoc finance duties/projects. You will assist the Finance Manger in mentoring the finance apprentices within the team. You will be given the opportunity to develop within the finance function and take on further accounting duties as you grow with the business.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this hands-on Assistant Management Accountant role, you will need experience in a similar position. Ideally, AAT qualified, studying towards CIMA/ACCA, candidates qualified by experience will be considered. You will have strong MS Excel skills, experienced in a range of financial systems, and be used to managing workloads to meet deadlines. You will have strong communication skills to build internal/external relationships, be willing to learn, along with being adaptable to business needs. You will be a key problem solver and a team player who can support others within the accounting function and wider business. A manufacturing sector background would be advantageous but not essential.
