Nurse Team Leader

Pay:
Pay Rate 1: £22 per hour – Monday to Friday, Days, 8.00am to 8.00pm
Pay Rate 2: £24 per hour – Monday to Friday, Waking Nights, 8.00pm to 8.00am
Pay Rate 3: £24 per hour – Weekends and Bank Holidays, Days, 8.00am to 8.00pm
Pay Rate 4: £25 per hour – Weekends and Bank Holidays, Waking Nights, 8.00pm to 8.00am
Hours: Full-time - approximately 40-42 hours per week (for example 30 hours care per week and 12 hours admin to be worked flexibly), day shifts available.

Support Workers

Pay:
£13.65 per hour – Monday to Friday, Days, 8.00am to 8.00pm
£15.00 per hour – Monday to Friday, Waking Nights, 8.00pm to 8.00am
£15.00 per hour – Weekends, Days, 8.00am to 8.00pm
£16.00 per hour – Weekends, Waking Nights, 8.00pm to 8.00am
£National Minimum Wage/National Living Wage per hour (dependent on the successful candidate's age), Monday to Sunday, Sleeping Nights, 10.00pm to 7.00am
Hours: Permanent hours (part time) - a number of shifts available across the 2 week rolling rota, shift times range from 3 hours to 10+ hours and can include days and waking nights from Monday - Sunday. However, if you are able to work just days, just nights or a combination of both, please do apply.

Experience required for waking night shifts however experience not required for day shifts.

Please note shadow shifts will be arranged for daytime shifts for 2 weeks prior to working nights with Verity, then there will be shadowing for the night shifts. These daytime shifts can be worked flexibly.

Driver required? Essential, to drive Verity's wheelchair adapted vehicle, automatic.
Accommodation (while on duty): Own room with toilet and tea making facilities for sleeping night shifts.
Pets: The family have 1 small dog who sleeps in the carers room.

Start Date: ASAP (subject to satisfactory employment checks)

Verity is in her mid-40s and lives independently in her own home with the support of a dedicated team of Support Workers who provide 24-hour care. She has an acquired brain injury and is looking for a Nurse Team Leader and Support Workers to join her care team. Verity is excited to welcome new people who can assist with her daily needs and help her continue living life to the fullest.

Verity is a vibrant individual with a great sense of humour who enjoys social activities such as quizzes, watching TV and films and planning for special occasions like Christmas and birthdays. She loves going out to the cinema, theatre and shopping, and has her own wheelchair-accessible vehicle for outings. Whilst Verity does not communicate verbally, she expresses her needs and feelings through body language and facial expressions. Her family and support team play an important role in interpreting these cues to ensure her comfort and wellbeing. Verity is registered blind, so her care team describes her surroundings and activities to keep her fully engaged.

As Nurse Team Leader, you will;
Deliver safe, effective nursing care in Verity’s home and in the community.
Lead and co-ordinate a team of Support Workers, ensuring high standards of care.
Provide clinical interventions including PEG feeding, suctioning, respiratory care, catheter care and pressure care.
Monitor Verity’s health and respond to changes with timely interventions.
Support Verity with personal care, communication and social activities.
Work closely with Verity’s family, Case Manager, and multidisciplinary team including therapists.
Maintain care records, update care plans, manage rotas, supervise staff, and oversee training and development.
Bring clinical expertise, warmth and strong leadership to Verity's daily life and to support her care team.
