Summary
We’re looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking IT Service Manager to lead and develop NDM’s IT Support Team — ensuring our world-class researchers, academics and clinicians have the secure, reliable, and innovative technology they need to make life-changing discoveries.
As IT Services Manager, you will be responsible for managing the IT Support Team to deliver a responsive, cyber secure and effective IT service across NDM, ensuring that all the day-to-day elements of IT operate seamlessly. You will both manage and work alongside a team of IT professionals within NDM, as well as coordinating and liaising with MSD-IT, and the wider University IT team to ensure effective IT service delivery to NDM end users. In this role, you will advise senior management on the IT function, strategy and progress, as well as supporting annual budget planning and proposed service improvements. You will support and manage NDM units data storage and management platforms where appropriate and where they need to exist, including Windows, Linux & Cloud platforms, providing services such as image storage, AV capability, informatics, and patient study databases.
It is essential that you are educated to degree level, or equivalent, or significant equivalent experience and have significant experience of organising and providing high quality IT support within an ITIL compliant framework for hundreds of users in complex environments. This role requires a candidate who has proven experience of identifying strategic IT infrastructure issues and then collaborating on planning and implementing agreed solutions and someone who is able to gather IT requirements and present detailed and technical recommendations to a variety of audiences. You will have significant experience of managing and developing a team of IT professionals.
