About the Client
Southern Housing’s Contract Services team delivers essential repairs and maintenance across a large and diverse housing portfolio. Their DLO (Direct Labour Organisation) workforce plays a crucial role in ensuring safe, compliant and high‑quality homes for residents.

The Role
The DLO Electrician will carry out electrical repairs, maintenance and installation work across Southern Housing properties. This role requires strong technical ability, excellent customer service skills and the capacity to work independently while maintaining high safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities
Carry out electrical repairs, fault‑finding, testing and maintenance across occupied and void properties.

Complete planned and reactive works in line with regulatory and organisational standards.

Ensure all work complies with current electrical regulations and safety requirements.

Maintain accurate job records and update internal systems as required.

Work professionally in residents’ homes, providing excellent customer service.

Liaise with supervisors, planners and colleagues to ensure efficient workflow.

Use and maintain tools, equipment and PPE safely and appropriately.

Contribute to a positive team culture within the DLO service.

Candidate Requirements
Fully qualified Electrician with relevant industry certifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition).

Experience in domestic electrical repairs and maintenance.

Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.

Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.

Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills.

Full UK driving licence (if required for the role).

Strong commitment to health and safety and high‑quality workmanship.
