We are looking for a motivated and organised Production Assistant to join our ice cream manufacturing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced food production environment and wants to develop their skills within manufacturing and operations.

Job Description
Callestick Farm Ice Cream Ltd is a leading manufacturer and supplier of dairy ice cream and sorbets to a wide range of customers in retail and food service.
The role is to support the production manager by conducting tasks to help ensure the smooth running of production process.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
• Assisting the production manager with daily admin tasks
• Conduct checks of paperwork ensuring linked data in Tropos is correct, before passing on to Technical Department for filing
• Using the site MRP system, submit purchase orders to suppliers and monitor supplier compliance in delivering to the set timescales
• Support operator training as appropriate, including liaising with external agencies where required
• Collate and present data for site and customer KPI reports
• Support the development function on site with all aspects of the role
• Keep detailed, clear records as required ensuring records are auditable all times
• If one of the site internal auditors, conduct internal inspections to schedule, including action logging and ensuring closures are undertaken within given timeframe
• Where required, support third party and customer audits and support ensuring the site is audit ready at all times
• Work closely with all site teams to ensure site standards remain high, promoting a right first-time attitude, highlighting weaknesses in practices and supporting implementation of appropriate corrective actions
• Work with the site teams to ensure the site is audit ready at all times
• Build positive relationships, act to promote good morale and cooperation within the teams on site.
• Actively promote and deliver good health and safety working conditions and practices.
• Promote a continuous improvement approach to ways of working, identifying and implementing any streamlining opportunities within own role and the team’s role
• Undertake any other task as is reasonably required to support the effective operation of the site.
• Flexibility to assist with all aspects of production duties as necessary.

Experience / Qualifications / Skills
• Working safely every day
• Organised and able to work to tight deadlines and under pressure, prioritising and managing workload appropriately
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to collate and process information rapidly
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Positive ‘can-do’ attitude
• Flexible attitude, ability to flex with the business needs, including at short notice
• IT Skills, including a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• Eye for Detail
• Food Safety Level 2
• Food Safety Level 3 – Working towards
• HACCP Level 2
• HACCP Level 3 – Working towards
• Experience of an MRP system
