Summary

Neway International are seeking a Children’s Social Worker – Children Looked After (CLA) Team to join our client based with Bromley Council.

Hours: 36 hours per week
Start Date: 26 January 2026

Work Pattern: 3 days in the office, 2 days remote
Pay Rates:
• PAYE: £37.52 per hour

Bromley Council’s Children’s Services directorate is committed to delivering high‑quality, stable and supportive services for children and young people. The Children Looked After (CLA) Team provides statutory support, care planning and safeguarding oversight for children and young people who are looked after, ensuring their wellbeing, stability and long‑term outcomes remain central to all decision‑making.

The Role
This role sits within the CLA Team and focuses on delivering statutory social work functions for children and young people in care. The post holder will manage a varied caseload, undertake regular visits, complete assessments and reports, and contribute to care planning and permanency planning. Office presence is essential for three days each week to support team collaboration and service requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of children looked after, ensuring statutory duties and timescales are met.

Undertake visits, assessments, care planning and review work in line with legislation and best practice.

Contribute to permanency planning, pathway planning and multi‑agency meetings.

Ensure the voice of the child is central to all assessments and decision‑making.

Prepare high‑quality reports for reviews, panels and court where required.

Work collaboratively with carers, families, education, health and partner agencies.

Maintain accurate, timely case records and ensure compliance with all safeguarding requirements.

Meet London Pledge and DfE standards for Children Looked After.

Candidate Requirements
Qualified Social Worker with registration to practice.

Experience working within Children Looked After or statutory children’s social care.

Strong understanding of safeguarding, care planning and relevant legislation.

Ability to work three days per week in the office as required.

High‑quality report writing, assessment and communication skills.

Commitment to meeting London Pledge/DfE requirements.
