Summary

Sticky Fingers is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Play Worker to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will support children aged 4–11 years within our after-school and holiday provision, delivering engaging play opportunities in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about child-led play, enjoys working as part of a team, and understands the importance of play in children’s development. Key Responsibilities
Support the delivery of high-quality, inclusive play opportunities that meet the needs and interests of all children
Actively engage with children during indoor and outdoor play
Build positive, respectful relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
Ensure children’s safety and wellbeing at all times in line with policies and procedures
Assist with setting up and clearing away activities and play spaces
Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and behaviour management procedures
Support children with additional needs, adapting activities where necessary
Promote positive behaviour and encourage independence and confidence
Work collaboratively as part of a team to create a fun and welcoming environment. Some Essential Requirements
Experience working with children aged 4–11 (paid or voluntary)
A genuine passion for play and child development
Ability to actively engage with children rather than supervising from a distance
Good communication and teamwork skills
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Willingness to undertake relevant training
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one). Some Desirable (but not essentials)
Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Playwork or related field
Experience within after-school clubs or holiday playschemes
Knowledge of the EYFS or Playwork Principles
First Aid training
