Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MOT Tester to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards as mandated by law. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Shifts
4 days on 4 days off rotation
12 hour shifts
Duties
Perform MOT tests on a variety of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively to conduct inspections and repairs.
Identify any mechanical issues or faults and provide recommendations for necessary repairs.
Maintain accurate records of tests conducted, including any repairs or adjustments made.
Communicate findings clearly to vehicle owners, providing explanations of any issues discovered during testing.
Ensure the testing area is clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
Assist in heavy lifting tasks when required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
Qualifications
Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose and repair vehicle issues.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Ability to perform heavy lifting as part of the role when necessary.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with customers effectively.
Relevant qualifications or certifications in vehicle maintenance or MOT testing are preferred.
