Summary

GCIL. Personal Assistant (PA) for Two Children LD/AD/LB/1.25

Location: North area of Glasgow
Hours: 10 hours per week
Rate of Pay: £13.60 per hour
Start Date: TBC
We are a warm and welcoming family seeking a kind, patient and enthusiastic Personal Assistant (PA) to support my two sons, Sam (11) and Aly (8), to enjoy life, build confidence and take part in activities that matter to them.
Sam and Aly are both autistic, they are affectionate, gentle and sensitive boys who enjoy spending time with others and build relationships easily when they feel understood and supported. They both love being active and creative and enjoy outdoor play such as football, arts and crafts, and playing board games together. Sam in particular enjoys gaming on the PlayStation and would really value having someone who is happy to play alongside him and share this interest.
Aly is currently being supported with his speech and language and can sometimes find communication frustrating. He is keen to be understood and benefits from someone who is calm, attentive and able to adapt their communication style to suit his needs so that he feels heard and supported. Both boys are emotionally sensitive and respond best to someone who is gentle, patient and responsive to how they are feeling.
The position is for a total of ten hours per week. This is divided between the two boys, with five hours allocated to Sam and five hours allocated to Aly, and the support will be provided to each child separately rather than at the same time. This means the PA will work individually with each child during their allocated hours. Days and times are flexible and may include weekends, and the family is very open to discussing what works best for everyone.
We are looking for someone who is kind, reliable and warm, with a genuine interest in working with children and an understanding, or willingness to learn, about autism. Experience is welcome but not essential, as the right personal qualities, patience and attitude are most important.
If you feel you would be a good match and would enjoy building a positive and trusting relationship with Sam and Aly, we would love to hear from you.
