As a Digital Product Specialist, you will be responsible for the delivery and continuous improvement of the Commercial Vehicle Service (CVS) digital products, by providing direction to a multidisciplinary delivery team on delegated authority from the CVS Digital Product Manager.
The Digital Product Specialist is a key role within the CVS Team to ensure that all elements of the digital service meet customer, stakeholder and DVSA needs. To do this, the post holder is required to provide a high level of product knowledge and technical expertise to ensure the products meet a balance of policy and customer requirements. The post holder will also bring business expertise into the team.
The role is part of the wider Vehicle Testing service team but will frequently work on a day-to-day basis as a Product Specialist in a multi-disciplined scrum team, to deliver excellent digital products and operational services for vehicle testing.
You will help your team build things in the right order by prioritising product backlog items. The post holder will do this by fully understanding the customer/end-user requirements along with business processes governing the product to enable the delivery of an effective, efficient, and enviable service.
You will be responsible for engaging with stakeholders and users to ensure they are clear on the benefits of the product and that their feedback is being used to inform ongoing improvements.
Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:
- Analyse product data and information to highlight the benefits of product changes by outlining costs, benefits, risks and potential responses to each, seeking input from key stakeholders to inform decision making and help build. Using this information to present robust recommendations, proposals and options papers for the Digital Product Manager and Head of CVS Digital.
- Ensure clear articulation of what is required from operational delivery and digital delivery teams which will include setting technical standards, quality expectations, test procedures and policies and service levels.
- Work with User Researchers to ensure excellent understanding of user requirements so that well informed product development and improvement decisions can be made. This will include analysing and interpreting information on customers/end users.
- Demonstrate leadership by providing guidance to staff to support the delivery of Manage and engage with honesty and integrity, and upholding the reputation of the Agency, Department and Civil Service.
- Integrate with the ‘ways of working’ of multidisciplinary scrum team within sprint cycles.
