Summary
Our small yet well-established client, who have ambitious future growth plans, are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join their fun and ‘family feel’ team as an Assistant Accountant. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based from their offices in Staunton, Gloucester.
The role will be centred around the uploading of sales invoices, ensuring all purchase invoices are matched to stock booked in and all non-stock invoices are posted to the correct systems, in relation to two of the groups businesses.
Whether you have previous finance experience or hold an accountancy qualification this may be the excellent opportunity to utilise your skills in a new role. To be considered for this role you must have strong attention to detail and a willingness to get stuck in along with a good sense of humour and a love for dogs! Most of all, you must be a team player.
Responsibilities:
-Process invoices, reconcile accounts and manage expense claims.
-Accounting for all money received and payments made on a daily basis.
-Conducting of daily/weekly/monthly Sales Ledger checks
-Monthly Creditor Statement checks will be required to enable payment of supplier payments monthly
-Producing bank cashflows daily reporting to Finance Manager
-Supporting with month end, involving the review of Trial Balance / Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets to make sure all costs are included i.e. Accruals and Prepayments and inclusion of asset depreciation
-Quarterly VAT Returns
-Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
-Support the Finance Manager in additional ad hoc projects and administrative tasks as required.
Candidate Attributes:
-Previous accounts experience
-AAT, ACCA or equivalent accounting qualification
-Experience working with Microsoft Office including Excel
-Strong attention to detail
-Ability to get stuck in and work closely alongside other members of the team
-Bubbly personality with ability to speak to people at all levels
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5pm (flexi time can be offered to start or finish slightly earlier or later)
Salary: Up to £33k per annum depending on experience + free parking
