Summary
Can you see past challenging behaviour to the vulnerable child underneath?
Do you thrive on the small victories, like a non-verbal child making eye contact or a student finally completing a full task?
Are you the calm, consistent role model that a young person in crisis desperately needs?
If you answered "yes" to these questions, Randstad Education is looking for you. We are currently experiencing a high demand for SEN Teaching Assistants to support our partner Primary and Secondary schools across Bradford.
The need for specialist support in Bradford is growing. We are looking for individuals who are not just looking for a job, but for a chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, Social Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and complex learning difficulties.
The RoleWorking on supply in SEN means no two days are the same. Whether you are in a mainstream school's "Resourced Provision" or a specialist SILC, your role is vital.
-
1:1 Support: Acting as the primary support for a specific child, ensuring they are safe, happy, and accessing learning.
-
Emotional Regulation: Using de-escalation strategies (experience with Team Teach is a bonus) to help students manage their emotions and anxiety.
-
Adaptability: Modifying work to make it accessible, using visual timetables, sensory breaks, or creative play.
-
Barriers to Learning: Supporting students who may have English as an Additional Language (EAL) alongside their SEN needs.
-
We Pay You Properly: We operate a strict PAYE system. You earn your daily rate without umbrella companies taking a cut.
-
Local Work: We understand Bradford geography. We try to keep you in the postcodes that work for you, avoiding cross-city traffic where possible.
-
Flexibility: Manage your own diary via our app. If you need a week off to recharge, you simply mark yourself unavailable.
-
Training: Access to free CPD training to boost your CV and skills in the classroom.
-
Experience: Previous experience supporting children or adults with additional needs is essential (this could be in care, residential settings, youth work, or education).
-
Attitude: You must be resilient, patient, and non-judgmental. A good sense of humor helps, too!
-
Vetting: A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or the willingness to apply for one immediately).
-
References: Two professional references that can vouch for your ability to work with vulnerable people.
There are children in Bradford waiting for a supportive adult who won't give up on them. Be that person.
