Summary
The Best Connection has an opportunity for an Permit Writer with our client who are a well established company based in Middlesbrough.
Main duties include but will not be restricted to:
- Working on a large dock site
- Perform gas testing associated with permit scope
- Ensures compliance with LOTO, energy isolation, blinding, etc. associated with permits
- Ensures areas within the permit scope are secure and all hazards (fire prevention, sparks, and chemicals) are abated before issuing permits
- Ensures proper PPE is utilised
- Understand, interpret, and provide positive support to the companies Health and Safety Management Systems
- Daily interface and supporting of contractor safety department representatives
- Communicate incident details to appropriate departments and/or contractors
- Daily auditing of lock out tag out, hot work, coldwork, confined space entry and Working at Height
- Assist with inputting incident information into applicable databases when required
- Monitors housekeeping throughout the work area
The candidate:
- Have occupational safety/health qualifications
- Have technical training and/or industrial related safety and health experience
- Will have ability to recognise hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures is essential
- Good interpersonal and communications skills with multi trade disciplines, employees, Subcontractors and Customer representatives
- Reliable transport due to the location being a large dock site
Hours of work:
- Monday to Friday shifts, with occassional weekends where required
- 07.00am - 15.30pm
Pay Rate:
- £16.96 per hour (overtime paid at higher rate)
- Overtime available after 3.30pm Monday to Friday, payable at £19.77 per hour
Overtime on Saturday until 11.30am payable at £19.77 per hour
Overtime after 11.30am on a Saturday and all day Sunday payable at £23.13 per hour
