Summary
Job Overview
-Mitie are seeking a dynamic and confident person to join their Mast & Towers Inspection/Maintenance Team at RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus. This role is suited for a trained junior climber or for someone who is confident with working at extreme heights and willing to be trained up for the role. Experienced climbers and trained inspectors/maintainers will also be considered.
Main Duties
-To provide comprehensive support and add value by providing a range of up-to-date, high-quality and specialised services, adjusted to the needs of our client.
-To support the M&T Team to inspect and maintain a wide range of masts, towers (up to 115m) & lowerable structures.
-Construct, install, maintain and inspect masts, towers & lowerable structures (including stay tensioning, greasing, & patch painting etc) to a good standard that does not impair the service and is cost effective.
-Ideally but not essential (THREE) years climbing experience on masts & towers up to 150m and thorough knowledge of rigging practices.
-A good knowledge & understanding of WaH regulations 2005 & JSP 375 Pt 2 Volume 3 Chapters 2 and 7.
-Good keyboard & IT skills.
-Experience of basic mechanical maintenance skills.
-Basic knowledge of Electrical Systems.
-Experience in the use of hand and power tools and specialist climbing equipment.
-Knowledge & understanding of LOLER 98 and RF hazards.
-To maintain technical and administrative records and provide information as required.
-Be prepared to deal with M&T related problems at short notice out of normal working time in sometimes extremely unpleasant conditions.
-Apply safety practises correctly and maintain safety equipment to agreed standards. Specify rigging techniques & safety systems and contribute to the development of new working practises.
-Have the ability to undertake tasks that are maybe new and complicated.
-Health & Safety of others and self who may be affected by work activities.
-Any other duties within the purview of the post which may be reasonably required by line management.

-Capable of meeting and exceeding requirements detailed in the current and subsequent revisions of JSP 375 Vol 3 Chapters 2 and 7.
-Good communication skills.

-A positive can-do attitude to your work, your customers and others within the company.
-Work as part of a team who takes responsibility for helping to create an enjoyable working environment.

-Proactive and unsupervised working.
-Demonstrate respect and trust for others.
-Current advanced industrial climbing qualification or equivalent. Including rescue training.
-Current in date climbing medical certificate.
-Recognised mechanical craft qualification. ONC/NVQ or 'A' Levels.
-Ability to write risk assessments & method statements.
-Possession of a current full driving licence.
-Qualified Appointed Person(WaH).
