Summary

The Growth and Infrastructure Team is looking for a highly motivated Engagement Senior Advisor to deliver our engagement strategy for sustainable growth across our operational teams. This will involve working across the business, aligning stakeholder agendas, building strong relationships and working on high-profile issues.

Please note that this is a busy high priority area of work. You will need the ability to balance strategic issues with reactive work, which will often involve reprioritising and delivering work quickly.

Key Responsibilities

Develop intelligence-led communications and engagement plans that meet agreed objectives.
Provide strategic advice on stakeholder engagement and maintain trusted relationships.
Advise senior executives on stakeholder approaches.
Horizon scan for risks and opportunities to inform engagement strategies.
Build strong relationships with Environment Agency and Defra communications colleagues.
Lead small engagement team across Growth and Infrastructure
Essential Criteria

Ability to create and deliver strategic engagement plans.
Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
Strong advisory skills with the ability to influence senior leaders.
Analytical skills for horizon scanning and risk identification.
Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under pressure.
Understanding of engagement strategies for sustainable growth.
People leadership experience
Desirable Criteria

Experience in government or public sector environments.
Project management capability.
Awareness of environmental issues and sustainable growth principles.
Knowledge of digital engagement tools and channels.
You’ll have an inclusive incident management objective in your development plan, so we’ll help you find an incident role to suit you. Appropriate training will be given.

The team

Growth and Infrastructure is part of the Growth, Permitting and Monitoring portfolio led by Emma Fraser in Operations. It includes the National Infrastructure team and supports Area Operations teams by driving operational improvements, strengthening risk and assurance, and enhancing performance reporting. The team is led by Helen Todd, Deputy Director.

The team plays a key role in supporting the organisation’s strategic goals through data-driven insights and continuous improvement.

Experience/skills required
