Summary

Part-Time Behaviour Teaching Assistant (2:1 Support)

Location: Community Hub
Hours: 15 hours per week
Contract: Part-time / Term-time
Pay: £20-£24 per hour (dependent on experience and training)

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join our team in a community hub setting. The role involves 2:1 support alongside a qualified teacher, who will lead structured sessions for a student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The Role:
- Provide consistent, calm and proactive behaviour support during learning sessions
- Work closely with the teacher to implement behaviour and engagement strategies
- Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour management
- Use de-escalation techniques and ensure the safety of the student and staff
- Build a positive, trusting relationship with the student
- Contribute to a nurturing and structured learning environment

Essential Requirements:
- Up-to-date restraint training (mandatory)
- Experience supporting children or young people with ASD and SEMH
- Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
- Ability to remain calm, patient and professional in challenging situations

Desirable:
- Experience in alternative provision, community hubs or specialist settings
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice
- Team Teach or equivalent positive handling training
