Summary
School Cook- Ongoing Supply Role
Location: Islington
Start: ASAP
Remedy Education are currently seeking an experienced and reliable School Cook to support a prestigious Academy in Islington on an ongoing basis while their Head Chef is away. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a well-run school kitchen, maintain high standards, and play a key role in the day-to-day catering operation.
Alongside leading the kitchen team, you'll also oversee catering for a variety of school events and take responsibility for managing the service in the absence of the Catering Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, restaurant-standard catering within a school environment
- Prepare, cook and serve meals to agreed standards and specifications
- Maintain full compliance with purchasing procedures and HACCP requirements
- Act as the first point of contact for any food quality concerns
- Support and guide the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience leading or managing a kitchen team
- Creativity, flair and a genuine passion for fresh, high-quality food
- A proactive approach with a drive to continuously develop the food offering
- Experience managing food costs and working within budgets
- Strong communication and people skills
