Summary

Support Through Sport CIO is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and organised individual to join our Community Sport Team. Working alongside an ambitious and supportive team, you will help deliver sport-based intervention programmes across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. These programmes combine the power of sport and youth work to engage young people, tackle negative influences such as knife crime, gang violence, youth offending, and serious youth violence, and ultimately build brighter futures and safer communities.

As a Community Sport Coach, you will plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging sessions in community settings, acting as a positive role model to young people. You will also support outreach and engagement activities, attend community events, and represent Support Through Sport in a professional and proactive manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging multi-sport sessions that motivate and enthuse young people.
Produce tailored session plans that take into account policies, barriers to participation, and the needs of young people.
Foster good sportsmanship, encourage healthy lifestyles, and act as a role model.
Evaluate sessions, provide constructive feedback, and attend debriefs.
Address poor behaviour appropriately and resolve disputes in line with safeguarding procedures.
Support outreach sessions and attend community events at local, regional, and national levels.
Ensure all sports equipment is maintained and in safe working order.
Attend relevant training, meetings, and supervision as required.
Maintain boundaries and confidentiality with participants, staff, and volunteers.
Ensure inclusivity and equality in all activities delivered.
Provide First Aid as required.
Training and Support Provided:
You will be supported to meet a benchmark of training and standards, including:

Basic Training: Health & Safety, Neurodiversity, EDI & Cultural Competence, Effective Communication, Resilience in Youth Work, Safeguarding (Level 2/3), GDPR & Data Protection, First Aid at Work, Enhanced DBS, Full Induction.
Enhanced Training: Contextual Safeguarding, Operational Skills, Domestic & Sexual Abuse, Health & Wellbeing.
Person Specification:

Coaching experience with good multi-sport abilities.
Direct youth work experience and/or lived experience of negative influences.
Motivated, positive, and passionate about making a difference.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Reliable role model to young people.
Available to work evenings.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
