Summary

What skills and experience we're looking for

Essential

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England, or on track to achieve QTS.


• A strong subject knowledge in Mathematics, with the ability to teach across the age and ability range.


• An enthusiasm for teaching Mathematics and inspiring pupils to develop confidence, resilience and a love of learning.


• Understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies, including assessment for learning.


• Ability to plan well-structured lessons that meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and disadvantaged pupils.


• Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to establish a positive learning environment.


• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.


• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.


• Willingness to engage in professional development and reflective practice.

Desirable

• Experience of teaching Mathematics (during initial teacher training placements for trainees)


• Familiarity with current GCSE Mathematics specifications.


• An interest in developing innovative or engaging approaches to Mathematics teaching.


• Ability to contribute to extracurricular activities or enrichment opportunities within the department.


• Confidence in using technology to support teaching and learning.
