Summary

Vita Health Group (VHG) – part of the wider Spire Healthcare Group – is looking for a customer-focused, ambitious, and forward-thinking Director of Operations to help us shape the future of workplace health in the UK.

Although employed by Vita Health Group, this role will work closely with Spire Healthcare’s workplace health leadership team. You will report directly to the Managing Director, Spire Workplace Health and play a central role in driving strategic development in this growing category under the Spire Healthcare brand.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced operational leader to deliver a major transformation - both operational and cultural - at the core of Spire’s strategic ambitions. You will lead the evolution of our workplace health services across four key areas: Occupational Health (OH), Musculoskeletal (MSK), Psychological Therapy Services (PTS), and Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).

As a pivotal member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will break down silos, integrate complex systems, and inspire multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Essential Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5+ years managing complex, multi-site, and multi-disciplinary teams (including clinicians) in a healthcare, corporate health, or related sector.
  • Demonstrable experience as a senior operational leader with full Profit & Loss and/or significant budgetary accountability.
  • A strong track record of leading large-scale operational turnarounds, service integrations, or complex change programmes at scale.
  • Proven ability to work effectively and influence multiple functions within a complex matrix organisation to deliver an integrated service.
  • Deep experience in overseeing clinical/service governance, quality assurance, and leading/managing complex investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the wider Senior Leadership Team’s ambitions by architecting and executing the operational strategy to integrate OH, MSK, PTS, and EAP into one cohesive,digitally-enabledservice.
  • Lead the day-to-day operations across all services, overseeing complex structures and fragmented systems.
  • Accountable for commercial insights, managing P&L and budgets across the operations function.
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a large, geographically dispersed, multidisciplinary team (including clinical and non-clinical staff).
  • Oversee governance and lead complex investigations from both an HR and care perspective, ensuring safety and quality are paramount.
  • Champion the adoption and implementation of digital health solutions and innovative care models to enhance accessibility, user experience, and clinical outcomes.
  • Build influential relationships with internal and external relationships across the business.
  • Demonstrable experience in working with customers and enable this knowledge to improve their experience and drive positive change.
