The Role- Year 5 Teacher – maternity cover
• Full-time position with Full Class Responsibility
• Start date: 9th February 2026
• Contract until the end of the academic year
• Planning, preparation and assessment responsibilities included
• Based in St Albans, Hertfordshire
• Teaching a well-established Year 5 class
• TA support available
- Small, community 1-form entry primary school
• Good transport links, suitable for both drivers and non-drivers
• Easy access from local road networks and bus routes
• Outdoor space available to support curriculum and enrichment
• Ofsted highlights positive behaviour, attitudes and personal development, with pupils feeling safe and supported
• Friendly and collaborative staff team
- Your commitment to a Year 5 class
• QTS with experience in Upper Key Stage 2
• Confidence managing full class responsibility, including planning, assessment and reporting
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- Our support and experience as the primary specialist working in partnership with Herts Education
