Summary
Maintain accurate nursing documentation in accordance with NMC guidelines and Trust policy. Ensure ongoing clinical competence in the use of medical devices within the department and in procedures such as administering injections. Ensure all accidents and incidents are reported promptly to the appropriate manager and recorded through the InPhase reporting system. All staff are expected to participate fully in the Trusts reporting processes and adhere to established riskmanagement procedures. Continue to meet the requirements of the Band 5 Emergency Department role as outlined in the attached role specification. Take responsibility for the regular cleaning of equipment, reporting faults to the shift manager, and removing defective items from use. This includes participating in daily checks and cleaning of equipment and drugs in line with the department quality book. All registered healthcare professionals, including nurses, must comply with SSSA standards, acting as practice supervisors as a minimum and progressing to practice assessors after 12 months in the department. Support the education, training, and development of yourself and colleagues within the Emergency Department, actively promoting shared learning and best practice in Emergency Medicine.
