This role ensures compliance with health, safety, and infection control standards while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
You will lead a team, manage resources, and collaborate with dietitians and chefs to deliver nutritious meals and exceptional service.
Job Description
As the Patient Catering Operations Manager, you will assist the Key Account Manager in providing strategic direction for patient feeding services.
You will manage staffing, training, and performance, ensuring service standards are met in line with company and trust policies.
This role requires strong leadership, organisational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and hygienic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of patient feeding services across the site.
Manage staffing levels, competence, and welfare of catering employees.
Maintain accurate records for costings, sickness, quality monitoring, and training.
Organise and deliver job-related training for new and existing staff.
Plan and coordinate food requirements based on menu cycles and historical data.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and infection control policies.
Monitor and maintain high standards of food quality and dietary requirements.
Liaise with dietitians and chefs for menu development and merchandising.
Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and investigations.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Previous catering experience (essential).
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
Knowledge of health, safety, and food hygiene standards.
Ability to plan, coordinate, and monitor food service operations.
Occupational Health clearance (mandatory).
Basic Food Hygiene training (will be provided and must be passed).
