We’re opening a new Lords Builders Merchants branch in Bury St Edmunds, and we’re looking for an experienced and reliable Forklift
Truck Driver to join the team.
In this hands-on, fast-paced role, you’ll play a key part in keeping our yard running safely and efficiently — loading and
unloading vehicles, preparing customer orders, and ensuring the yard is organised and well presented.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
* Safely operating a forklift to load and unload vehicles
* Assisting customers, suppliers, and delivery drivers in the yard
* Picking orders manually and handling materials safely
* Keeping the yard clean, tidy, and well organised
* Carrying out daily safety checks on plant and machinery
* Working closely with the wider branch team to maintain a smooth operation
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
* Forklift licence (counterbalance or telehandler) and recent experience operating one
* Previous experience in a builders’ merchant or similar yard environment
* Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
* Ability to lift heavy items and work safely at pace
* Right to work in the UK
