Summary

Electrical Control Panel / On-Machine Wire Person

Taunton | Up to £37,000 per annum | Monday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm, Friday 8am-1:30pm | Permanent | Full-Time

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting an experienced Electrical Control Panel / On-Machine Wire Person to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing company in Taunton. The business designs and supplies specialist machinery to the converting and print industries worldwide, offering a stable, long-term career for skilled electrical wire persons.

Key Duties

  • Wiring control panels and electrical machines from detailed electrical drawings.

  • Installing and wiring motors, drives, relays, transformers and HMIs.

  • Carrying out on-machine wiring including trunking, cable trays, junction boxes and sensors.

  • Wiring PLC hardware (no programming required).

  • Fault-finding and troubleshooting electrical systems.

Requirements

  • Time-served electrician or equivalent with control panel and on-machine wiring experience.

  • Experience working with three-phase systems.

  • Ability to read and follow electrical drawings and cable schedules.

  • Strong fault-finding skills.

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (desirable but not essential).

  • Own hand tools required.

What We Offer

  • Salary up to £37,000 per annum.

  • Early finish every Friday.

  • Overtime paid at x1.3 on weekdays and x1.5 at weekends.

  • Permanent, full-time employment.

  • 20 days holiday, increasing by 1 day per year up to 25 days, plus bank holidays.

  • Excellent Taunton town centre location within walking distance of public transport.
