University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) is seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant Medical Oncologist for a 6-month fixed-term post to join our nationally and internationally recognised oncology service.The successful candidate will join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, patient-centred cancer care.The successful candidate will join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, patient-centred cancer care within Uro-Oncology. The post will involve the management of patients with urological malignancies, including prostate, bladder, renal, and testicular cancers, with active participation in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, outpatient clinics, and inpatient care as required.
The Uro-Oncology Service at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) is a specialist and tertiary referral centre for the treatment of urological cancers. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, highly regarded service during a period of significant expansion, with recent consultant appointments across surgery and oncology.
The post holder will deliver consultant-level medical oncology care for patients with urological malignancies, including prostate, bladder and penile cancers, primarily based at the Macmillan Cancer Centre, with close integration with the surgical service at University College Hospital at Westmoreland Street. The role involves working within a multidisciplinary, team-based model and contributing to service development, research and innovation. The consultant job plan will average 7 Programmed Activities per week, undertaken on site at UCLH, and will include participation in the on-call rota. This role would suit a clinically excellent, collaborative consultant with strong communication skills and an interest in clinical trials and service improvement within a leading academic cancer centre.
