Summary

A new national Building Safety Levy is being introduced in October this year. The post holder will have the opportunity to help put the systems for the management and collection of the levy in place and to be responsible for administering the assessment and collection of the levy.

The post holder will need to have the aptitude to help set up procedures for administering the levy and will need to have the ability to read plans and undertake calculations to assess the amount of payment to be made. Good analytical and accounting skills will be needed.

As the levy process is new, we do not expect applicants to have experience in this area, however, applicants will be expected to have significant experience in administrative roles, ideally within a Local Government or public sector setting.

Pendle is in Lancashire’s scenic Pennines, close to the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District, and Manchester.

We offer:
• Flexible working, including no set core hours, up to 2 flexi days per month, and compressed hours
• Up to 31 days annual leave
• Flexible contracts requiring 2–3 days in the office each week (more if needed), so you should live within commuting distance of Nelson, Lancashire

Our Benefits include:
• Local Government Pension Scheme
• Option to buy extra annual leave
• Cycle to Work, home tech, and car salary sacrifice schemes
• Discounts at major retailers via the Vivup programme

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and do not discriminate on any basis, including disability, gender, race, religion, sexual orientation, or age.
